QUALTRICS

Creating the qualtrics universe

18 Sets. 12 Days. Start tomorrow.

It was one of those “Can you be here in 24 hours?” kind of jobs. I flew to Utah unsure what to expect from the crew and having little idea what the sets were going to be beyond “a hallway of arches.” Admittedly my expectations of Utah crew were not high, but I was immediately impressed by the creativity, work ethic, and good attitudes that surrounded our team. I cannot recommend filming in Utah highly enough.

Running 2 shifts with roughly 30 crew I brought the clients vision to life in an incredibly short timeframe. It was just 12 days before the first shoot day and 18 sets needed to be built. Big Thank You to our crew for meeting and exceeding expectations! Shooting over the course of 8 days, I was designing sets, drawing construction plans, managing the build / strike / placement, all while determining the elements we could re-use to minimize waste and maintain budget.

The Arch Hall was fully built, no arches added in post. While the footprint was large for each, I determined making them to the original smaller specs would have cost us more time and saved minimal material. The effect being the hallway felt grand and open.
