Yes, it was all real cake. So, how did everything become cake? After interviewing a slew of cake artists, most of whom have had an appearance on the Netflix hit “Is It Cake?” I dove into work with Justin Salinas. The biggest challenges were the desk and ponytail. I designed a desk to match existing office furniture with a standard baking-sized cutout so we could prep several cake/takes ahead of time. The ponytail however involved not only cake and design, but now incorporated HMU. I devised a wig-like apparatus with a sturdy oven-safe shaft to bake the cakes ahead of time. Due to the difficulty of the reset, we only had three chances.. and “Brian” NAILED IT!!!!!
